Türkiye’nin Sosyoekonomik Değişkenlerinin Turizm Endüstrisine Etkileri: Kümeleme Analizi (The Effects of Turkey's Socioeconomic Variables on the Tourism Industry: Cluster Analysis)

Öz

Turizm gelişimi, bölgesel ekonomik büyümenin önemli bir itici gücü olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’deki bölgesel sosyoekonomik yapıların turizm gelişimiyle olan ilişkisini incelemektir. Çalışma, Türkiye’de turizm talebi ve arzının bölgesel olarak heterojenliğini ortaya koymakta ve farklı destinasyonların sosyoekonomik yapılarına özgü dinamiklerinin analiz edilmesine olanak tanımaktadır. Çalışmada, 2014–2023 döneminde 26 Düzey-2 bölgesine ait Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TUİK) verileri kullanılarak gelir eşitsizliği, eğitim, işgücü piyasası koşulları, sağlık altyapısı, göç dinamikleri ve turizm yoğunluğu göstergeleri analiz edilmiştir. Çalışmada bölgesel sosyoekonomik yapıların belirlenebilmesi için, tüm değişkenlerin z-skor standartlaştırması sonrası k-ortalamalar (k-means) temelli gözetimsiz bir kümeleme yöntemi uygulanmıştır. En uygun küme sayısı, Dirsek (Elbow) ve Siluet (Silhouette) yöntemlerinin birlikte kullanılmasıyla belirlenmiştir. Bulgular, düşük beşerî sermaye ve zayıf turizm performansıyla karakterize edilen daha az gelişmiş bölgeler, dengeli sosyoekonomik koşullar ve orta düzey turizm yoğunluğu sergileyen orta gelişmiş bölgeler, gelişmiş beşerî sermaye ve kamusal altyapı tarafından desteklenen güçlü turizm performansına, ancak daha yüksek gelir eşitsizliğine sahip yüksek gelişmiş bölgeler olmak üzere üç farklı bölgesel profil ortaya koymaktadır.
